Kingston, NY, June 2009 River Radiology in Kingston, NY partnered with Facial Imaging LLC to offer Hudson Valley area dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and their patients the latest in 3-dimensional Dental CT Scans. Dental Implants are fast becoming the standard of care and the preferred method of permanent tooth replacement. New CT guided technologies facilitate safer, less-invasive dental implant procedures as well as enhanced post-surgical recovery for patients.
River Radiology is a convenient and easily accessible free-standing radiology facility in Kingston. “Our high tech CT scans are fast and reduce a patient’s exposure to radiation to a minimum,” said Jonathan Ahmadjian, MD, President of River Radiology.
These new Denta scans provide dentists and dental surgeons with clear, full color, 3-dimensional images of the jaw, accurate measurements of bone anatomy and density, and the ability to travel “virtually” through the jaw to help plan the implant procedure in advance. They also offer treatment planning services that take the guesswork out of surgical planning. This enables the dentist to precisely pinpoint the best location and the least invasive method for implant placement. This results in a more streamlined procedure and in most cases, reduced patient recovery time with minimal discomfort and swelling.
Angie Rockwell, Lead CT Technologist, said, “At River Radiology we can perform the scans within minutes.” Patients can expect an appointment time of 30 minutes which includes filling out forms, a brief interview and the CT exam
River Radiology sends the CT scans to Facial Imaging in Westchester County where they are processed and read by a trained technician and a physician who specialize in facial imaging. Detailed reports are then provided to the referring dentist.
To receive a Dental CT Scan, patients must have a referral from a dentist or dental surgeon. Dental scans must be paid in full at time of service. Patients can call River Radiology to schedule an appointment Monday thru Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
River Radiology has a patient friendly web site, www.RiverRadiology.com, packed with information as well as photographs of the radiological procedures and the scan images, so interested patients can see what the scans actually look like.
River Radiology is a full service imaging center offering high field and open MRI, PET-CT, CT, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Echocardiography, Digital X-ray, and Nuclear Medicine.
